Job Description: Seasonal Mobile Golf Grip Specialist

Location: Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Job Type: Grip Specialist Seasonal (Approx. March–October), Income Commission/Percentage Based

The Grip Guys brings professional golf club regripping services directly to our clients—at their homes, offices, or local golf courses. We provide a premium, convenient experience focused entirely on improving a golfer's connection to their equipment. Due to the nature of the sport, this position is seasonal, with peak business between spring and fall.

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Seasonal Mobile Golf Grip Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for golf equipment and a proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a mobile, autonomous environment. You will be responsible for operating our mobile service van/setup, consulting with clients, performing high-quality grip installations, and managing inventory on the go.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile Operations: Drive the company vehicle to scheduled appointments, set up the mobile service station efficiently, and ensure a clean, professional appearance at all times.

• Expert Regripping: Perform professional, high-quality golf grip installations using various methods (tape/solvent and or air-powered installation). Ensure accuracy in club length, grip size, and alignment according to customer specifications and USGA standards.

• Customer Consultation: Engage customers to understand their needs, assess their current equipment, and recommend appropriate grip styles, sizes, and materials from our inventory. Provide an exceptional, consultative customer experience.

• Inventory & Sales: Manage mobile inventory stock, process sales transactions using a mobile Point-of-Sale (POS) system (e.g., Square), and handle cash and credit payments securely.

• Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the service vehicle, tools, and equipment.

• Scheduling: Adhere strictly to the daily appointment schedule, communicating proactively regarding arrival times or delays.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Proven experience in golf club repair or retail, with demonstrated proficiency in regripping golf clubs.

• Strong knowledge of golf equipment, various grip manufacturers (e.g., Golf Pride, Super Stroke, Lamkin, Winn), and fitting principles.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working one-on-one with clients.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

• Ability to attend tradeshows and tournaments when necessary and be a professional representation of the company. 

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays, during the peak season (March through October).

Preferred:

• Experience working in a mobile service, field service, or highly autonomous role.

• Familiarity with mobile POS systems (Square, Shopify, etc.).

• An active interest in playing golf and a strong understanding of golf course etiquette.
